I’m Hubert Behaghel, a husband, father of four and Head of Technology at Sky. I look after a great team that builds and runs three ambitious platforms globally:
- Content Discovery,
- Personalisation,
- and Data & Analytics.
I live in Maida Vale, London where Alan Turing was born. My middle names are Joseph and Marie, like Joseph Marie Jacquard, another French, the first programmer ever. I started coding at 10 on an Amstrad CPC4641. This role at Sky is my nth attempt at quitting coding. Previous attempts were made at Amazon, in a startup in Switzerland, in the banking industry, and as an entrepreneur and consultant in Paris.
I use this blog to challenge the statu quo in our industry. Unless it’s just to process the challenges the industry throws at me. And yes, we haven’t qualified what we mean by “the industry”. I am still figuring this out. All of it. Well tech leadership, software engineering, human nature and how to be a good dad. That’s most of it.
